How To Manage Your Own Side Hustle

reach-for-the-and-blue-moon-neon-signages-1510659

Over the years I have had a great deal of fun on this blog. You can scroll through the multitude of posts to see that. But, I’m changing my course… I’ve decided to start giving back everything I have learned. Yes, this is a game-changer for those of you who know me. But it is time. It’s not all about me anymore. I want YOU to become the rock star of your own universe. I want to help you MYOB: Manage Your Own Business.

To continue on with the rock star analogy, maybe right now you feel like you are just a “garage band”, or maybe, you ARE in a garage band and you fancy yourself and the band someday selling out 75,000 seat arenas all over the world. Either way, I want to help. I want to help nurture that inner Michael Jackson or that inner Elon Musk. I’ll push aside the velvet ropes… we can take the journey together.

So, here is what is going to happen. From now on Mr. Brick will use this time and space to be your on-line, make-a-change, go-to guru! That’s a lot of hyphens… but they are well earned.

My pedigree is straight from the trenches of personal management. I was a Hollywood talent agent and manager for almost 25 years. I’ve consulted with thousands of individuals on personal branding, vision, growth, and development for them and/or their company.

I’ve also been fortunate enough to have consulted with many small businesses in and out of the entertainment industry to help them find their vision and identity. It’s what I do.

Some self-help gurus like to call their method strategies to success or steps to success. I like to eat, I’m constantly thinking of food (like right now, what I wouldn’t do for a Jersey Mike’s sub.) So, I call my methods of action, RECIPES. If you have ever tried cooking (I did… once) and unless you follow the recipe EXACTLY, you’re not going to get the desired result. Same for your life, career, and relationships.

I know many of you might hate your 9 – 5 gig, but you do it to pay the bills and put chili cheese fries on the table for you and your family. I get that. I was there. I will be writing and sharing my wisdom in an attempt to allow you to start living the life your DNA was wired for, not the life the Bossman says you should live.

You can come here and read posts to get valuable links and tidbits on how exactly to manage your life, career, and relationships. I’ll frequently post on how to manage the career or project of others and turn it into a lucrative side hustle for them. Helping others is really why we are all here. Do not buy into the world that says it’s only about you, so you need to grab all of the gusto while you can. Not true. You will find that your life is far more balanced with less stress when you are giving back to others than when you are taking. Try it. I dare you. No wait, I double-dog dare you!

I’m always trying to learn new things. Hopefully, you are too. Here are some great resources to help you manage your new journey:

I’ve got good news and bad news.

The only thing standing between you and success… is you. Your willingness to take action. Your willingness to invest in yourself. Your willingness to go after something you really want, even though it’s new and you’/re not sure yet if you can do it.

That’s the bad news…

But it’s also the good news.

Because if you are the one standing in your own way, you are also able to get out of your way and grab ahold of exactly what you want. It’s going to take time. It’s going to take practice. It’s going to be challenging.

But it’s also going to be so rewarding when you accomplish it.

If you’re ready to take action and go after your  dreams, then I have one suggestion:

Learn from those already doing it.

It’s going to help you figure out how to get started, narrow down what you want to do, and make your dreams of working at home a reality.

Sometimes people wanna be a rock star in their field but haven’t narrowed down the type of work they want to do. There’s an app for that… no, not really, but I’d like to introduce you to a really cool spot on the internet called Work at Home School to give you a boatload of options to help you decide what you want to do and how to get there. You can check out Work at Home school Here.
