I was watching In Session today on Tru TV about a case where a man who was going through a nasty divorce with his wife and he hired a hit man to kill her. Turns out the hit man was a detective working undercover. So where did all of the meetings between the fake hit man and the loser trying to bump off his wife take place? Well they all took place where you would expect to be safe…in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Yep, that’s what I was thinking…what better place to plan an assassination attempt than in the parking lot of America’s #1 retail store? I wondered if this was a common practice…committing a crime in such an upscale location.
I had a date with my friend Google and together we did a little digging and it turns out that it is! Gulp!
In November 2005 there was a documentary called, Wal- Mart The Hight Cost of Low Prices. I never saw it, but it looks pretty good. I will wait to see it when Oprah puts it on her OWN Documentary club. But if you want check it out. On the documentary’s website they list crimes committed in various Wal-Mart parking lots around the country they compiled the following list of crimes that happened in the few months prior to the release of their documentary in the fall of 2005. Here is that list:

Ok, so you might be screaming at this post, ” But Mr. Brick, those are all things that happened several years ago.” True dat, but do you really think things have improved? Not so much. Check this out from just a few days ago. Man Exposes Himself in Wal Mart parking lot. Or how about the America’s Most Wanted fugitive who was captured in Washington State last month, where else, but in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Read here: Violent Felon captured in Wal-Mart Parking lot. I could go on and on. Even the kinda famous have had their Kevin Bacon 6 degrees of separation moments between themselves and a Wal-Mart Parking lot. Read all about it: Former UFC Fighter Wesley Correira arrested in Wal-Mart parking lot.
Country recording artists Chris Cagle released a single called, “”Wal-Mart Parking Lot” in 2005. The single failed to crack the top 40. Of course there has been many weddings in Wal-Mart parking lots. Here is a very proud couple that put their Wal-Mart parking lot wedding video up on YouTube for the world to see. Although they don’t have anywhere near the number of views that Rebecca Black has, they have shared their bliss with 211.,005 people. Lucky us.
This all makes me dizzy.
Have a great day!

My initial reaction is to expect scary things to happen at Walmart. Have you ever check out the website the peoples of walmart? google it, it’ll give you a laugh and probably the heebie jeebies as well.
Maybe I just think Walmart is sketchy because the one where I live is ghetto and in a bad area. Once I’m inside all is well though!
Well ironically Leah the words WalMart are from an old indian phrase that means Sketchy Village.
Hah. Just as i suspected. c
is that good or bad?
